Writing a book means organizing hundreds or thousands of notes; it’s like obsessive-compulsive disorder, except with letters instead of fingernail clippings. For years I’d keep a dozen Word files open at once, slowly driving myself insane as I alternated between them. (This explains the fingernails.) But Scrivener’s logical interface results in far less tedium. It won’t make you a better writer, but it can make you a more efficient one. And that frees up time for your… um… hobbies.
