As an academic writer, I recommend Scrivener wholeheartedly to my colleagues and my students. The real testimony of the product’s worthiness is that writers use Scrivener, both beginners and expert, and find new uses for it in ways they could not have anticipated. Opening a new writing project can be daunting, but the mechanical problems -- for example, getting started and rewriting -- are demonstrably less intimidating with Scrivenerand can overcome the psychological barriers. Can an app be inviting you to write? I didn’t think so until Scrivener. I wrote my new book, Embracing Writing, entirely in Scrivener when I responded to that invitation.
